The first Key Buyers Event was held in Moscow from October 25 to 27 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The international forum brought together leading content distributors from 25 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and the USA. Expocontent organized the forum, while Russia’s largest film distributor Central Partnership served as its general partner. Gazprom-Media Entertainment TV was a special partner.
The main mission of Key Buyers Event is to increase the efficiency of Russia’s TV industry and move dialogue with foreign partners to a new level. The forum brought together a large number of foreign content distributors who work in different segments - 50 top buyers from Europe, Latin America, Asia and the USA, many of which have already bought Russian projects to show to international audiences. Representatives of Hulu, Globo TV, APC Kids, Wild Bunch, Canal+, Beta Film, Koch Media, BF Distribution, Mediaset Italy, Mediaset Spain, GO-N International, Tencent and others attended the event.
International distributors gave high marks to the quality of Russian media content. In focus groups, they noted a good level of directorial and acting effort, artistic concept of the projects, use of the latest technologies in creating special effects and animations, as well as the wide variety of genres in which Russian content creators work.
